CIS Subcontractor Tax Tracker
Your contractor takes tax off before you see the money. This works out how much you should get back.
Microsoft Excel◆Google Sheets◆.xlsx file
If you are a self-employed CIS subcontractor, 20 or 30 per cent comes off every payment, with no account taken of your personal allowance or your expenses. This spreadsheet keeps the records that make the year-end reclaim straightforward, and does the arithmetic in front of you. It checks your contractor's sums and flags any statement where the deduction does not match, keeps materials out of the labour, and gives you a real year-end figure with the personal allowance taper, the income tax bands and Class 4 National Insurance - and it will tell you plainly if you still owe. It is a record keeping and estimating tool, not HMRC software or tax advice.
